| Welcome
Welcome to the Assertive Training Programme. If you work through this programme you will have the opportunity to consider your behaviour in work, home and social situations and to identify if changes need to be made in order for your life, and that of others, to be more relaxing and less stressful. Being assertive is not a way to be selfish or aggressive. It is not about winning at all costs or getting your way all of the time. Being assertive means :- recognising that you have a number of rights which you can use and defend
- getting a clearer picture of how you feel, and seeing these feelings as being important
- expressing yourself clearly, simply and directly but still in your own way.
- not putting others down or being bossy
- challenging situations which exclude you or others from taking part on an equal basis

It would be good for us to know a little about you, so please would you fill in the About Me form before you begin. This form is confidential and will help us to know who is working through this programme. We can also keep you informed of new programmes coming on line that may be of interest to you |
