By now, we should all be clear about the fact that we have assertive rights. And, they are a right, not something that can be given or taken away by others. They are ours for good and it is up to us to ensure that we take them and become assertive people.
These are the rights of us all :
.
1. You have the right to respect yourself. That is, who you are and what you do.
#
2. You have the right to express your feelings and opinions and have them validated for you.
#
3. You have the right to enjoy success.
#
4. You have the right to make mistakes and to take responsibility for them.
#
5. You have the right to change your mind without offering reasons or excuses.
#
6. You have the right to ask for 'thinking it over' time.
#
7. You have the right to ask for what you wish.
#
8. You have the right to behave as you wish as long as it does not deny the rights of others.
#
9. You have the right to say NO without feeling guilty.
#
10.You have the right to choose not to be assertive
Don't forget. Identify your issues and deal with them one at a time. Do not become discouraged and, if you do not always succeed, practice your assertive skills and GOOD LUCK.
